Pronunciation
Pronunciation
Pronouncing a language well helps communication. Practising pronunciation also helps to incorporate a language’s specific structures and improves spelling.
The course is entirely practical and is complemented by 10 hours of individual practice with each student.
AIMED TOWARDS
People who speak Catalan, but who have difficulties pronouncing some sounds and want to improve their speaking skills in the language.
In the case of CPNL students, it is especially suitable for students in the Intermediate and Advanced courses.
GENERAL OBJECTIVE OF THE COURSE
Improve pronunciation of Catalan vowel and consonant sounds.
UNITS
- Presentation of the sound: how it sounds and how it is articulated. Auditory discrimination exercises are used to train the ear and differentiate right and wrong sounds.
- Sound practice: students practise and progressively learn the sound they have learnt in different contexts (isolated sound, phonological opposition, logatomes and onomatopoeias, words, syntagmas, proverbs and set phrases, tongue twisters).
- Sound integration: practise the new sound acquired in order to remember it and include it in communicative situations (oppositional games, dialogues, reading, etc.).
- Sound spelling: a brief review of sound spelling.
