Emails and formal letters make up a significant part of written communications.
The letter and email writing session has been designed to work on aspects that do not affect grammar and spelling, but are key to be able to write messages effectively.

GENERAL OBJECTIVE OF THE COURSE
Teach students how to write a formal letter and an email, taking into account the arrangement of the elements, form of address, register, consistency and linguistic conventions.
CONTENT
Aspects of writing formal letters and emails that do not affect either grammar or spelling will be worked on:
- Letter and email structure
- Form of address:
- Way to address the sender
- Way to address the recipient
- Formal forms of address
- Phraseology
- Common mistakes
- Standards
- Abbreviations
- Upper and lower case
- Quotation marks and italics
- Non-sexist language
- Writing guidelines
