Enrolment procedure guide

1. Access the enrolment portal

The procedure for enrolling on a course is carried out on the enrolment portal.

All the available courses can be consulted in the course finder.

When you start your enrolment it is important that you remember the data that will enable you to access the enrolment platform again, as the whole procedure cannot be completed in one day.


2. Start your application form

Enrolment of preferential students: people enrolled on a course within the last 12 months.

General enrolment: for everyone else.

To be able to enrol, you must meet the following requirements:

  • be 18 years old or 16-17 years old and not have completed compulsory schooling in Catalonia

  • Prove the necessary level


3. New student / old student

New student: if you have never taken a Catalan course in the CPNL, you must fill in the form to be able to continue with your enrolment. You will be required to prove your identity on the form by means of one of the following documents: DNI, NIE (or Schengen equivalents) or passport.

Old student: if you have already taken a course in the CPNL, you just have to verify your data and continue your enrolment. If there has been any change in your data, you will have to enter it here.


4. Prove your level

To be able to enrol on a course, you must prove your level of Catalan. This can be done:

1. By means of a placement test.

You can request a free test to do online or in person via the enrolment portal (you have to register).

2. By means of a Catalan language certificate.


5. Select the course

If you have already done a course with CPNL, you have to do the course that follows the one have passed.

If you have done a placement test, you have to do the course that results from the test.

Enrolment can be ordinary or with reductions. You can check prices here.

If you are entitled to a reduction of the enrolment fee, you must provide the following supporting documentation:

  • Valid documents that at the time of enrolment grant the right to a reduction of the enrolment fee in accordance with the current prices and reductions.
  • Special needs document
  • Authorisation from the father, mother or legal guardian, if the student is 16 or 17 years old (parental authorisation).
  • If the person who formalises the enrolment is not the student, it is necessary to accredit the representation.

Once the CPNL has validated the received documentation, you will be able to continue with the enrolment procedure.


6. Formalise enrolment

You will receive a form to make the payment once the enrolment has been formalised.


7. Payment / free of charge

If once the form has been received, the enrolment fee is not paid within 3 calendar days, the enrolment will be automatically cancelled.

If the course is free of charge, you can skip this step.


8. You have successfully enrolled!

If you have made the payment or it was not required, you are enrolled on the Catalan course!

If you have not made the payment within the established period and you want to do a course, you will have to start the procedure again.
