Determining your level
Contents:
1. Access the platform
Go to the platform for enrolment for Catalan courses and click on "Determine starting level".
If you have a student account, click on "I have an @alumnes.cpnl.cat email address".
The app will redirect you to Microsoft Office log in.
Remember that you have to close the session on your private Office account in your browser or open a new window to start an Office session using your CPNL account.
Enter your password and click "Start session"
If you do not have a student account, click "I don’t have an @alumnes.cpnl.cat email address".
Fill in the form with your details.
Once you have completed the form, select the email address or phone number to receive the verification code to confirm your identity.
Enter the verification code.
2. Obtain the processing code
The processing code identifies your specific application. Keep it to log back into the application if necessary.
3. Attach a certificate
If you have an equivalent certificate of your knowledge of Catalan, select "Yes" and attach it.
Click on the dropdowns and select the relevant options.
Attach your certificate as a PDF or JPG or PNG image (the maximum file size is 1 MB).
Click "Save and continue".
The screen will show that we have received your certificate and it is being reviewed. Following that review, you will be notified that your application has been updated.
If your certificate has been accepted you can register for a course when the registration period opens.
If your certificate has not been accepted, you have to request a level test.
4. Request a level test
If you do not have a certificate and want to do a level test, select "No".
Answer the questions in the questionnaire.
When you've finished it will tell you that you have to do a beginner’s course, or Basic 1.
Or that you should do a level test. You can do that online or in person.
Once you’ve asked to do a test, you will be called to agree a day and time to do it.
When you have the results of the test, you can register when the registration period opens.
The result of your level test does not operate as a certificate of your language knowledge and does not guarantee that you will have a place on a Catalan course.
5. Continue with an open procedure or view the recommended level
To access an open application, go to the enrolment platform and enter the details at "Continue with an application on the platform" (type and number of the document and processing code).
If the enrolment period is open, you can register.
See the guide to the enrolment process for the next steps.
